Xiaomi, which has many smartphone models from budget-friendly to flagship, has opened a new factory to meet the demands. The production facility established in China will serve as Xiaomi’s largest smartphone factory to date.

Xiaomi has officially opened its largest factory in Beijing, the capital of China. This facility, called “Beijing Changping Smart Factory”, has started mass production as of today.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated that the factory has an annual production capacity of over 10 million flagship smartphones. This makes it Xiaomi’s largest smartphone production facility to date.

BYD now rivals Bentley and Rolls-Royce!

BYD is entering the luxury car market. It wants to grow in the high-priced vehicle segment with its Yangwang models.

Beijing Changping Smart Factory uses production processes based on a high level of automation. According to Xiaomi’s statement, it has an autonomous development rate of about 97 percent for test equipment and 100 percent in factory management software.

Production at the new factory focuses first on the 14 series. It is aimed to produce more of the Xiaomi 14 series, which was launched earlier this year. In addition, the 14 Ultra, which will be introduced in the coming weeks, is also expected to enter mass production in this facility.

Once the Beijing Changping Smart Factory is fully operational, the annual production value is expected to be around $8.5 billion. This is a big boost for Xiaomi’s production capacity as it seeks to strengthen its position in the high-end smartphone segment.
